Nobody handed Rajesh Joshi a client list or a famous name. What he had was two decades of experience, a clear idea of how brands should be served, and the patience to build around both.

There is a particular kind of leader who does not simply manage what already exists but imagines what could exist and then builds it. Not the ones who inherit great institutions and maintain them, but the ones who take something broken and turn it into something the world genuinely admires.

Rajesh Joshi, Founder of Chariot Productions Media Private Limited, better known as Chariot Media, is that kind of leader in Indian advertising. He did not step into a family business or take over an established agency. He started with an advertising venture in 2013 and built it, year after year, into a full-service media agency that works for brands from its base in New Delhi.

That distinction matters more than it might seem. Advertising is a business where reputation is usually inherited or acquired through a famous parent company. Building one from the ground up means winning every client, every approval and every bit of trust individually. There is no network name to lean on, and no legacy budget that arrives automatically. The agency is only as good as the last campaign it delivered.

Joshi came to that challenge well prepared. He was born and raised in New Delhi, one of India’s most important commercial and media hubs, and has spent more than two decades in advertising and communications. Over those years he learned the full mechanics of the trade: how media is planned, how it is bought and released, and how a campaign moves from a brief to something the public actually sees.

Chariot Media was founded in November 2013, with Joshi serving as Whole-Time Director. The idea behind it was to combine the capabilities of a full-service agency with the agility and personal attention of a founder-led business. Brands that work with a founder-led agency tend to value one thing above all: access to the person who is accountable for the outcome. That has been central to the way Chariot Media presents itself.

Over the years the agency has built a broad offering. It works across television, radio, print, outdoor and digital media, covering media planning, multimedia buying and releasing, creative strategy and 360-degree brand promotion. For a brand, that breadth means one partner can plan a coordinated campaign across several media instead of managing a separate relationship for each.

The guiding principle is simple. Joshi has described it as building solutions around the brand’s objective, rather than making the brand fit a particular medium. Many agencies work the other way round and steer clients toward the channel they know best. An agency built from scratch, with no inherited preferences, has a natural freedom to start with what the client needs.

Credibility has been part of the build. Chariot Media is accredited with the Indian Newspaper Society and registered with the Indian Broadcasting Foundation, Doordarshan and All India Radio. These are the formal credentials that allow an agency to buy and release media across the country’s major platforms, and they take time and a dependable record to earn.

Recognition has followed. In April 2025, Joshi received the Big Impact Creator of the Year award from the BIG FM Group, and in 2026 Chariot Media was honoured at the Outlook Business Spotlight Achievers Award. Speaking about the BIG FM honour, Joshi said that true impact is never the work of one individual, and he credited his team, his clients and the wider industry. For a founder who built the agency himself, it is a notable way to talk about success.

What does this mean for the brands that work with him? The clearest answer is in the way the agency operates. Clients get a team led by someone with more than twenty years of hands-on experience, a planning approach that starts with their objectives, access to media across platforms, and formal credentials that reflect professional standards. Those are practical advantages, and they come from the way the agency was built rather than from a famous name.

There is also a wider point for Delhi’s business community. A city with this much commercial energy benefits when it has agencies that grow from within, led by people who know the market firsthand and are accountable for their results. Founder-led agencies keep the industry competitive, and they give brands, large and small, real choices about who to trust with their communication.

Rajesh Joshi did not inherit an advertising agency. He built one over more than a decade, on experience, credibility and a client-first idea that has stayed constant while the industry changed around it. For the brands that work with Chariot Media, that is a good reason to be confident in the partnership.
